Holidaze

December always means projects, papers, presentations, and all the fun that comes from finals. My last final was scheduled to end 9:30 Monday night and mumsy booked me on the 8am flight Tuesday morning southbound. The weekend's snowpocalypse made my trek to the airport at 5am all the more interesting, but Florida was kinds enough to greet me with sunny skies and plenty of warmth.

A set of family arrived later that day - Pam, Glenn, Max, and Gabe. We had a great time trotting around the island...

...riding in really fast cars...

...and even squeezing in a quick art lesson...


...playing with chatter teeth, squeeze-balls, RC cars and motorcycles...

I attempted another homemade Christmas, again leaving me drawing, knitting, and wrapping into the wee hours of Christmas.

A shawl/blanket in eggplant, lavender and cream for mom along with a cotton spring scarf in coral and a wool fall scarf in taupe.


A hat of hand-dyed merino wool in denim and a set of 6 illustrations of old buildings around Walpole, NH.


A set of handmade cards/envelopes and a black lacy shawl of merino wool for my grandmother.


A rendering of the USS Arizona Memorial in Pearl Harbor for my Uncle Shawn...


And an illustration of the old Wakefield Town Hall for my grandfather.


A good time was had by all..


My grandparents always like to give us little brain teaser toys, you know those metal things that only take a pair of pliers to 'solve'? As with every year, these tended to be the most captivating item of the day...
